The Tiwi Land Council and the Federal Government have rejected all attempts to reach a negotiated solution

Ever since the Tiwi Land Council cancelled land leases on the Tiwi Islands and claimed ownership of trees established on behalf of Growers – your trees – Save My Tiwi Trees Inc (SMTT) has been engaged in a battle to restore your rights.  The Tiwi Land Council have consistently rejected our offers to negotiate an equitable solution and continue to seek Government funding to harvest your trees.  Legal action against the Tiwi Land Council will be expensive but there is no other way to break the current deadlock.
